these products work. They have come a long way since the days of orange

Bronzers
Bronzers are products that actually dye the
skin. They can be applied as either a cream, lotion or even as a powder.
They do not last very long and can stain your clothing. This is an older
method of sunless tanning.
Tanning Lotions & Tanning Sprays
Sunless tanning lotions and sprays usually use
the chemical DHA or
dihydroxyacetone. This chemical is a sugar that reacts with the amino
acids in dead cells on your skin. When it reacts with your dead skin
cells, it changes colors and darkens your skin. This product is also
relatively short lived and you will have to reapply it often.
Sunless Tanning Caution
Everyone's skin is different so you might want
to test a hidden area of your body first. If you do not want to test spot,
try starting with a light tan. If you make a mistake, it will be less
apparent with a light sunless tan.
Remember that sunless tanning products do not protect your skin from the
sun like a natural tan will. Wear sunscreen when going outdoors to protect
yourself.
